What is a Scam message?
Literally translated “Scam” means fraud! Most often these days, this type of scam is sent electronically, via the “Tor” browser and goes through a VPN so that the sender cannot be traced. The most common attempts of fraudsters are related to the request for login data to the server, and more precisely, to your hosting account. In recent times, there has been an absolute copying of the Superhosting site and having a server that changes its location every time. Of course, worldwide, the most fraud attempts are related to bank accounts, but now we are only talking about hosting.
Very often Scam messages look typewritten and grammatically weird! Pay attention to the logo, the text, and especially the sender of the email you receive. When it's a scam, the fastest way to tell is by looking at the sender's email address!
Here is an example of a misleading email trying to collect your bank card details. Of course, the psychological tactic is being used here that if you don’t pay today, you will be out of domain if you don’t pay now.
Note the logo in the email. It is almost always different from the logo used by Superhosting.
Always the address sounds weird and doesn’t mention your name. Keep in mind that Superhosting emails are fully translated into Bulgarian if you have selected this language for your profile. No mixing of languages.
There is a chance that the prices will match those on the site, so for the price of the service, you may not be able to catch the scam. However, make sure it doesn’t look strange to you.
This is where the psychological part of the email is used, in which they tell you that there is a problem and if it is not solved immediately, you are likely to lose your data or even the site. Superhosting does not threaten their customers!
Superhosting does not charge additional delay fees!
Pay serious attention to emails that ask you to take immediate action!
How do we protect your hosting?
We’re going straight to the answer, no gimmicks. We protect your hosting account on the server using two-factor authentication (2FA).On all websites and online stores that we at Studio EXITO support, we add additional protection through a 2FA code. Thanks to the frequent development of Superhosting, there is already an option to activate it in Cpanel.
Two-factor authentication is the application that allows to add an additional requirement of a 6-digit code that you must enter after you have successfully logged into your Cpanel. We use a premium version of 2FA authenticator which allows us to provide remote access to the customer’s account if requested.
In the video below, you can see what 2FA protection and authentication looks like when you try to log into your hosting account. A new six-digit code is generated every 30 seconds and must be entered to authenticate your session.
